Group Tours

Your travel group, book club, or Red Hat group will love visiting Montgomery County, Indiana! With so many great museums and galleries, we have a lot to offer, and the Montgomery County Visitors and Convention Bureau is happy to set up an itinerary for your group.

If your group is interested in Civil War history, you might like to spend the morning at the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum and Lane Place, with a quick stop at the Speed Cabin, which was the residence of a local abolitionist. You could enjoy lunch at one of our great local eateries, then visit the Old Rotary Jail, which was built in 1882 and is the last operational rotating jail.

If the arts are more your thing, you could visit the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum, where Ben-Hur was written, have lunch in town, and visit several of our downtown art galleries. In the evening, take in a show at the Vanity Theater and spend the night at one of our great hotels.

Do you have a golf outing to organize? You should spend a weekend in Crawfordsville, playing our four local courses and enjoying burgers from The Barefoot Burger or Creekside Lodge.

If you’re an outdoor athlete, come follow five miles of the Big Four Rail corridor along the Sugar Creek Community Trail, play disc golf at Milligan Park, hike the hills and hollows of Shades State Park, or rent a canoe for a leisurely trip down Sugar Creek.
