Love a good race?  Check out Dirt Track Racing at Ben Hur Speedway, the fastest kart track in the state of Indiana.  This 1 1/3 mile dirt oval track averages speeds of 62 miles an hour for adult racers.

 

IMG_4933Admission is just $4 adult / $1.00 kids and gets you up close to the action.  Bring your own chair or take advantage of the bleachers.  There is even playground equipment and open field areas for restless little ones to run about, play Frisbee or toss a ball around.

IMG_4944Check out Pit Passes for an opportunity to see the racers and their karts behind the scenes.  Meet with the drivers, who are happy to answer any questions, and even pose for a picture.

Pack a basket for dinner or visit the concession stand.   You can even grill out at your vehicle.  The Ben Hur Speedway typically races two Saturday a month.  Track opens for spectators at 5:00 pm, practice starts at 5:30 pm and the racing action starts at 7:00pm.
