Grecian Dress at Athens of Indiana Arts

Now’s your chance to help GROW THE ARTS in Montgomery County!

Athens Arts is hosting its Spring Fundraising Gala on Friday, April 25, 2014.

As a nonprofit organization, Athens Arts depends on this key fundraiser to enable us to bring the Crawfordsville community the kind of art, music, poetry, and creative classes that you won’t find anywhere else. Our theme this year is draped in Grecian dress…

Ancient Athens was the most powerful and civilized city in the 5th century. The city was at the height of its cultural achievements and was the capital and largest city in Greece. It was known to be the center of the arts and learning and referred to as the cradle of Western Civilization. Crawfordsville has been known as “the Athens of Indiana” since the early 1900’s for its culture, progressiveness, and abundance of nationally known writers.

Today, Crawfordsville still embodies many of these same qualities. Help Athens Arts celebrate its namesake by joining us for an evening devoted to the continuation of the lively arts in our community. The event begins at the Gallery with hors d’oeuvres and artistic surprises then continues to the Crawfordsville Country Club for a Greek feast.

Mark your calendars, Friday April 25th starting at 5:00pm. Tickets are $50 and are available at Athens Arts Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 5:00. You can also purchase securely on-line at www.athensartsgallery.com.
