Sugar Creek Community Trail

Sugar Creek Trail Logo

Sugar Creek Trail is a 4½-mile hiking and biking surface that partly employs an ex-Big Four rail corridor. The trail may be reached from the back of the Crawfordsville High School . A small sign marks the trail entry from the school grounds.

The Sugar Creek Trail links Crawfordsville High School to the Big Four Rail corridor. It proceeds west to the R.R. Donnelley Trailhead Park and on to Sugar Creek. Our trail will preserve part of the railroad dating to 1853. Rails-to-Trails programs have been popular around the country, as they serve many recreational uses while preserving the railroads for future transportation. Work was completed fall of 2018 that connected RR Donnelley Trailhead to Schenk Road.
