Lane Place

Lane Place

The MCHS is excited to announce that we will open to the public on Thursday November 5th for tours.  We will close for the regular winter season on December 5th.  We plan to open early next year and begin offering tours in March of 2021.

Reopening in the age of COVID-19 will require pre-scheduled appointments for research and Lane Place tours.  Please call 765-362-3416 or go online to our website at www.lane-mchs.org to schedule your tour.  Tours will be offered on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm due to reduced volunteers.  Face coverings will be required when visiting to protect visitors, staff and the artifact collection.  If you are feeling unwell we ask that you reschedule your tour or research for a later date.  For more information please follow us on social media or contact our office.

Lane Place is the Greek revival home of Senator Henry S. and Joanna Lane. Lane was a U.S. Representative, U.S. Senator and helped found the Republican Party.

The Speed Cabin, once a haven for runaway slaves, is located on the north side of the grounds.
